MUSIC CONTEST (2011 – 2012)
REGULATIONS

A. Date:
December 21, 2011 (Wednesday)
1st Session: Junior Forms (F.1-3)
2nd Session: Senior Forms (F.4-7)

B. Classes:
1. Solo singing
2. Small Group singing (2-12 singers)
- any combination
3. Choral singing (18-50 singers)
- any combination
- total performing time must not exceed 7 minutes
4. Instrumental playing (1-12 players)
- any combination
- total performing time must not exceed 8 minutes
5. (Senior Forms) Songs from other lands (1 – 5 singers)
- choose any song in foreign language other than English and Chinese
- total performing time must not exceed 4 minutes
(Junior Forms) Sing with Live Music (1 – 5 singers)
- perform any song with live music (= no recorded music)
- total performing time must not exceed 5 minutes

C. Own Choice piece:
1. Competitors are free to choose any piece of music with a positive theme.
2. The school has the right to examine all own choice pieces and reject any pieces that are not suitable to be performed in the school.

D. How to enter:
1. Entry forms are obtainable from the music club web site http://student.tanghin.edu.hk/~music/acti/musiccontest
2. Deadline of submitting entry forms: 4/11(Friday) before 5 pm.
3. Competitors should submit the lyrics or one copy of the own choice piece together with the completed entry form.Please put them into the collection box outside Staff Rm.A.
4. A separate form must be used for each entry.

E. Miscellaneous:
1. Preliminary contest may be held.
2. Individual member of any group entry may only perform for that particular group. This regulation does not apply to accompanists.
3. The decision of the adjudicators on all artistic matters should be final.
4. Music should be used as accompaniment only. It should not contain any human voices except for the echo voice.
5. Students should not perform the same song in different group.
